You can permanently delete your GetSafeNow account at any time. This page explains how to delete it, what data is removed, and the limits of what we can delete.
Deleting your account in the app
The fastest way to delete your account is from within the GetSafeNow app:
- Open GetSafeNow.
- Go to Settings → Delete Account.
- Confirm the deletion.
Requesting deletion by email
If you can't access the app — for example, you've lost your device or uninstalled the app — you can request account deletion by emailing [email protected] from the email address associated with your account. We will process your request within 10 working days.
What gets deleted
When you delete your account, the following is permanently removed from GetSafeNow's active systems:
- Your username and profile information
- Your display name
- Your access to your message history
- Encrypted media and files associated with your account
What cannot be deleted
Some data cannot be removed, for the following reasons:
- Messages you have already sent that were delivered to other users remain on those recipients' own devices and accounts — like any message, once delivered it cannot be recalled.
- Payment records are held by our payment processor, Stripe, which retains them for 7 years to comply with US tax and financial recordkeeping requirements. GetSafeNow does not have access to your payment information.
